Pet Portrait Dog process… #2

After good reference material is located, I use the black and white version of the photography to layout the image on the watercolor paper. As I do this I tend to concentrate on putting down only the dark areas first, I sketch kind of ignoring the medium tones till later.

I entered this watercolor in the Dick Blick Art Supplies, “Pet Portrait” competition. Here is a link to my entry, please vote for me starting May 23rd (Mon) thru May 30th (Mon). They allow one vote each day. The person with the most votes could win an art supply package worth $350 along with the kudos of the notoriety of the win.
